Celebrating Founders Staying Grounded during #NYTechWeek

On June 3rd we launched our second exhibition of Critical Mass, with Volume Two: Stay Grounded. With over 300 people in attendance we enjoyed performances by D.J. Workhorse and Sunny Jain’s Addiction, drank organic wine, grilled angus burgers, and celebrated the groundbreaking work of 8 incredible critical technology companies.

After our inaugural "All Trips Are Heavy" showcase, we knew Volume Two had big shoes to fill.

If Critical Mass Volume One was about the weight of the journey ("All Trips Are Heavy"), Volume Two  is about the grip: holding steady when everything around you tries to knock you off balance - and staying grounded through the chaos of building something that matters.

In this second edition of Critical Mass, we featured exhibits by it's electric, Gradient, ReynKo Inc., arculus, wheel.me, SEEQC, Revise Robotics and Avol — each representing a different facet of critical technology. From drone delivery of blood and organs, to solving the physics problem of turbulence, it was a deep tech vibe, Newlab style.

Critical Mass is a regularly occurring open house at Newlab Brooklyn featuring a rotating exhibition that highlights the startups building the technological and economic foundation of the future. Stay tuned for Volume 3!
