Newlab at Michigan Central Hosts Mobility Showcase

Newlab Detroit welcomed more than 80 participants representing 16 different partner organizations to their first-ever Mobility Showcase.

On June 6, 2023, the team at Newlab Detroit welcomed more than 80 participants representing 16 different partner organizations to their first-ever Mobility Showcase. Guests from major mobility companies including Michelin, Bosch, Stellantis, Mahindra, Lear Corporation, and Magna International, gathered to observe live demonstrations of next generation technologies from 13 startups. Each of these companies, carefully selected from the Newlab ecosystem, offered their own unique solutions for the future of mobility.

The Showcase was divided into three areas of focus: aerial delivery, ground delivery, and factory automation. Each area was represented by multiple startups who have found opportunities to improve upon, if not completely change, the way we conduct business in the mobility sector today. The startups shared presentations, discussions, and demonstrations on everything from drone capture capabilities (TargetArm) to small form factor urban delivery containers (URB-E) to tele-operated vehicles (Mapless AI).

Among the other startup partners were Newlab members wheel.me and Yank Technologies, electric chassis conversion company Orbis, factory logistics innovator Tubular Networks, and electrified logistics manufacturer REE Automotive. Guests viewed demonstrations of the technologies and had the opportunity to meet startup founders to learn more about the technology, discuss future collaborations, and ask questions.
