File Transfer Services
Filenames
Filenames should use only alphanumeric characters and "_" underscores They should not contain "." periods or "-" dashes Spaces should not be used in the filename Always use the correct file extensions, i.e. tiff or jpeg
Compression
Always use a lossless compression on files before sending them We recommend using Stuffit for Mac users and Win Zip for Windows users Examples are: Stuffit, Zip, or Tiff with LZW, Compression protects the file integrity and allows you to transfer the files faster

FTP or file transfer software
We recommend you use a FTP client sending software like, Fetch or Transmit for Mac OSX users and Smartftp for Windows users.

You can also use your normal web browser, Internet Explorer, Firefox or Safari with a large file transfer service like www.sendthisfile.com Send this file.com has a free limited service which works very well.
Mac OS X Users
Please email us at digital@newlab.com to request a username and password
- Open System Preferences then open the Network preferences
- Under Proxies, check the PASV box and click Apply
- Quit System Preferences
- Open Fetch or Transmit
- Set the Host: to ftp://64.81.252.62
- Set the User ID: to the username provided by the NEWLAB digital department
- Set the Password: to the password provided by the NEWLAB digital department
- Click on Put file and navigate to your file to upload
Windows Users

Using the Smart ftp program:
- Under the Options or Advanced tab check "Allow PASV"
- Click Connect and enter ftp.64.81.252.62 as the hostname
- Enter in your username and password provided by the NEWLAB digital department
- Go to the "Local System" window and locate the files you would like to upload
- With the files selected, click the appropriate directional arrow to transfer them to the "Remote System" window
- Log out
